About

Our Vision

I started this website as I became frustrated by all the misinformation that plagues the internet in terms of nutrition and general healthcare. I found that these messages often weren't backed up with concise evidence and plucked from one random study or personal analogy.

Coming from a background in healthcare, I am no stranger to the fact that research can be very hard to keep up-to-date with, and hard to interpret.  However, I am passionate about sharing my evidence-based learnings in a fully comprehensible way so that it is accessible to everyone.

I also admire the up-stream work that is done by governments and non-profit organisations to improve public and population health. I want to understand the impact that health policies directly have on a countries health outcomes.

I want to empower individuals to live a healthier and more balanced life. With that- The Empowered Health Hub was born!

I hope to create a safe space where knowledge is shared for no other reason but to help others and allow you to create change in your life.

Who am I?

My name is Eimear and I am very passionate about nutrition, well-being, healthy lifestyle  and public health. I have a Master's degree in nutrition and human behaviour and a Bachelor's in psychology. I understand that creating healthy habits can be very difficult especially in a society which is moving at such a fast pace however, I aim to arm you with the power to understand the science and implement these practices into your life.

I am a very social person and grew up playing an abundence of sport. I have always loved interacting with people and engaging in activity. I also LOVED food as a child (and still do!) and I came from a household filled with homecooked, nutritious meals. Without any formal nutrition education, my mother (a nurse) understand the importance of good food for an active, growing body and never failed to fill us with the best food. My dedication to health and wellbeing is something that was bred into me and I am eager to pass this on to others.

This is a very personal venture which I hope will help the wider community.
